The Marvel movie Thor, which starts filming in January, has recently added a few cast members to the lineup. First came the announcement that “The Warriors Three“, a group of warriors who fight alongside Thor, had been cast. Stuart Townsend was cast as Fandral, Ray Stevenson as Volstagg the Valiant, and Tadanobu Asano will play Hogun the Grim. Following that news, it was reported that Idris Elba will be Heimdall, the guardian of the Bifrost Bridge that connects Asgard to our world.
Previous casting announcements included Chris Hemsworth starring as Thor, Anthony Hopkins as Thor’s father, Odin, Tom Hiddleston as Thor’s evil step-brother Loki, and Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, the love interest of Donald Blake, Thor’s mortal alter-ego.
