It’s finally here. The new Green Lantern trailer has made it’s debut. For a first trailer, I guess it’s o.k., but I think I was expecting more.
Hopefully the next trailers, and the movie, will be better. I’ll try to keep an open mind and reserve judgment until I see more, but I’m a little underwhelmed. Especially with some of the special effects. The green power stuff was just a little too “misty” for me. I was expecting it to look a little more “solid” like in the comics.

Other characters being cast are :
Carol Ferris, long-time love interest of Hal Jordan (Green Lantern), sometimes also known as the supervillian Star Sapphire.
Abin Sur, an alien who recruited Hal Jordon into the Green Lantern Corps.
Dr. Hector Hammond, all around bad guy who eventually exposes himself to the radiation from a meteorite and gains a superior intellect, telepathy, mind control, and telekinesis.
Ryan Reynolds was cast as Green Lantern recently. In an Entertainment Weekly article Reynolds says “There’s no rule that says you can’t play two different characters in two different comic book universes.” He also comments “There’s so many interesting comic book characters out there, I would love to do others.”
Ryan tells EmpireOnline that Deadpool will definately break The Fourth Wall, and speak directly to the audience. When asked about the last scenes of X-Men:Wolverine, he says “That we won’t speak of.”
