This is the first edition of a feature we are calling Zzub, The Backward Buzz. You may have noticed that the posting schedule here at New Movie Buzz is a little, shall we say…erratic. With all the movie news coming out all the time, it is difficult to decide what is post-worthy for New Movie Buzz, and difficult to find time to write about it. We have started to utilize tools like Twitter and Facebook to keep movie fans informed, (you can follow New Movie Buzz using the links in the top right corner of this page), but, in addition, we have decided to implement this backward-looking summary of recent movie news.

Director Martin Campbell Talks Green Lantern

Sci-Fi Wire has an interview with Martin Campbell, the director of the upcoming comic superhero movie Green Lantern. Campbell talks about trying to “keep a sense of reality about it” and avoid cheesiness. He also hints that he may be considering a trilogy and tells us who he would like to see play Sinestro.

Green Lantern will star Ryan Reynolds and should hit theaters in 2011.

Spiderman To Be Rebooted

Sam Raimi, Tobey Maguire, and Kirsten Dunst have left the production of Spiderman 4. Sam Raimi quit the production saying that he could not meet the scheduled release date and maintain creative integrity. Some accounts say Raimi hated the script. Sony has pulled the plug on Spiderman 4 and is moving forward with plans to reboot the franchise.

In a press release, Sony announced: “Peter Parker is going back to high school when the next Spider-Man hits theaters in the summer of 2012. Columbia Pictures and Marvel Studios announced today they are moving forward with a film based on a script by James Vanderbilt that focuses on a teenager grappling with both contemporary human problems and amazing super-human crises.”

Sam Raimi says : “While we were looking forward to doing a fourth one together, the studio and Marvel have a unique opportunity to take the franchise in a new direction, and I know they will do a terrific job” .

New Ghost Rider 2 Info

Collider.com has just posted the first part of an exclusive interview with Ghost Rider 2 producer Mike De Luca. In the interview De Luca provides several new pieces of information about Ghost Rider 2. Among other things, he says that the film will take place in Europe, that it may be filmed in 3D, and that the sequel will be like “pushing the reset button” on the franchise. New Clash Of The Titans Trailer

The second Clash of the Titans trailer has now been officially released. The Clash of the Titans remake stars Sam Worthington as Perseus, and Liam Neeson as Zeus. There’s some new footage of Pegasus and the Kraken. The Kraken is released at the end.

Iron Man 2 – First Official Trailer

The first official Iron Man 2 trailer is now available for viewing online.

The trailer includes Tony Stark reveling in his new found fame as Iron Man while Ivan Vanko builds stuff in a Russian prison and curses the Stark name. Later, Ivan, as Whiplash, slices off the front of his Tony’s race car with one of his laser whips and generally wreaks havoc on the racetrack. Then we see a little bit of Black Widow action, a scene in which a flying Iron Man is pursued by some sort of tentacled flying things, and finally Iron Man fighting side-by-side with War Machine against a horde of what looks like Iron Man Mark I “weapons”. Looks like Favreau has done it again.
