This is the first edition of a feature we are calling Zzub, The Backward Buzz. You may have noticed that the posting schedule here at New Movie Buzz is a little, shall we say…erratic. With all the movie news coming out all the time, it is difficult to decide what is post-worthy for New Movie Buzz, and difficult to find time to write about it. We have started to utilize tools like Twitter and Facebook to keep movie fans informed, (you can follow New Movie Buzz using the links in the top right corner of this page), but, in addition, we have decided to implement this backward-looking summary of recent movie news.
Here’s some movie news you may have missed :
- Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Joel Edgerton cast in the remake of The Thing
Filming starts in Toronto March 15. Full story at The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision Blog. - Daredevil Reboot
David Scarpa (The Day The Earth Stood Still) is writing the screenplay. Exlusive from Deadline|Hollywood. - Underworld 4 in 3D
Underworld sequel is confirmed with Len Wiseman again directing. More at FirstShowing.net. - Mad Max 4 : Fury Road
Charlize Theron, Tom Hardy, and Nicholas Hoult are in. Mel Gibson is out. Details at Sci-Fi Wire. - Hulk in The Avengers movie
It certainly seems that way if you read between the lines like the guys over at Filmonic. - Planet of the Apes Reboot not dead after all
Warning: Producers have gone back in time to change this movie’s future. Read about it at the Vulture blog. - Vin Diesel back for Riddick 3
No plot details yet, but maybe closer in tone to Pitch Black. Read the article at Variety.
That’s it for the first installment of Zzub. Hope you learned something new. Is this a useful feature? Does it have a stupid name? Let us know what you think in the comments.
